On Friday, August 22, 2008 Local Lodge 94 of District Lodge 74 in Norfolk Virginia concluded negotiations with Lockheed Martin Readiness and Stability Operations for the location at the Norfolk Naval facility. These negotiations were held in Virginia Beach Virginia.
A meeting was scheduled and held on August 23, 2008 at which time the membership ratified the company’s new offer by a 72% majority.
The following are highlights for review:
* 2 Year Agreement effective 23 August 2008 through 25 July 2010
* 18% General Wage Increase the first year and 3% in the second year for the most populated classification (Electronic Technicians)
* 7.5% to 4% General Wage Increase the first year and 3% in the second year for the remaining classifications (Computer Systems Analysts, Machinery Maintenance Mechanics, and General Maintenance Workers)
* Shift premium increases for both second and third shift employees
* No increased cost to employees on improved medical benefits plan
* Increased Employer contributions to Health and Welfare plan by 55.5%
* Added employee eligibility for incentive payments and awards
* Numerous improvements in contract language
NOTE: Monetary value increases become effective 1st payroll in October each year
The bargaining committee consisted of John Selbe and Dwight Bonnema of LL 94 and their District Lodge 74 Directing Business Representative Larry Young.
