Over two hundred Metal Trades Activists, site managers and presenters participated in this years Metal Trades Training Conference held at Ballys' Hotel and convention center October 26, - October 29, 2010. The Metal Trades Department of the AFL-CIO each year, with the exception of its convention year, brings these activists and management together to discuss issues and attend workshops geared to their specific industries.
One of the largest groups at this years conference was the IAM delegation with members coming from Department of Energy and Department of Defense sites as well as public and private Shipyards from across the country.
The highlight of this years conference was the very passionate speech given by Keynote speaker Rich Trumpka President of the AFL-CIO who challenged delegates to go back and use the last one-hundred and twenty hours to get out the vote.
