Armstrong World Industries Negotiations 2011-2012

Representatives of the Machinists and theUnited Steel Workers met for two days in Pensacola, Florida to prepare for negotiations in 2011 and 2012 with Armstrong World Industries. Wages, pension, and health and welfare were the focal point of the discussions at this meeting. It is clear that Armstrong World Industries and its partner TPG are really interested in cutting the benefits of all the hard working employees at Armstrong facilities across the country. .

 

IBT Business Manager Luke Foley who represents the members at AWI's hardrdwood floor plant in Charlston, West Virginia met with the coalition on March 9, 2011 and shared Armstrong’s last proposal which include a 25% increase in insurance cost and lump-sum bonuses in all three years of the agreement.

 

Negotiations will comence with USW's at Marrietta, Pa Plant and will conclude with the IAM's Pensacola, Fl. ceiling tile plant
