This is the 2012 schedule of classes offered by the Communications Department at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center at Placid Harbor, Maryland. The official call for each course will be sent to lodges by the Communications Dept.
Each course's Official Call will be available online four months prior to the scheduled class.
Advanced Web Development
January 15-20, 2012
This advance-level class is for local and district lodges that already have a website. The course highlights a more sophisticated use of graphics by using classic principles of design, and it provides an introduction to HTML and cascading style sheets.

Basic Newsletter Development (Rescheduled to 2013)
March 18-23, 2012
The Basic Newsletter Development course teaches new editors how to start and publish a newsletter. It covers selecting subjects for stories, conducting interviews, writing and editing, headlines, and effective layout and design. Students obtain hands-on desktop publishing experience by creating their own newsletter using Microsoft Publisher software.

This basic-level class is for lodges just beginning new websites and focuses on designing and constructing web pages appropriate for lodge use.
