OSHA 501 Course in Occupational Safety & Health Standards for General Industry

IAM C.R.E.S.T. provided classroom and hands-on training for an OSHA 501 Train-The-Trainer Course in General Industry Standards to Union Members of the IAM, ICWUC and NLC Instructors through the International Chemical Workers Union Center for Workers Health and Safety in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This week IAM C.R.E.S.T. in cooperation with the ICWUC Center for Worker Health and Safety Education and its consortium members IAMAW, UFCW, AFGE, AFT, ANA, CBTU and the University of Cincinnati is providing classroom and hands-on training on chemical emergency response to labor representatives at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center.

This was a two-day training program that will help the Tomahawk Mill and IAM Local Lodge 1713 reduce employee injuries, lower workers’ compensation premiums and reduce overall risk of OSHA imposed citations.

IAM CREST safety training programs were chosen in a first in air transport safety program that involves a partnership between IAM District 141, United Airlines and the Federal Aviation Administration to accomplish a safety culture change to reduce injuries and accidents.

First IAM MSSC Safety Certification Class

August 16, 2007 - This week IAM CREST is providing an Manufacturing Skills Standards Council Safety Certification Class at William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center.  The IAM is the first Union in North America to provide this course and is the first of four modules. 

Joint Labor Management Accident/Incident Prevention Program

This week IAM C.R.E.S.T. is providing classroom and hands-on-training on Safety & Health to labor and management safety committee members at the Plymouth Tube Company facility.  Participants learned the requirements of the OSH Act of 1970 and employee and employer responsibilities.
