The Toronto and York Region Labour Council invite workers and their representatives to register for the new Workers Health & Safety Centre (WHSC) Level 1 Occupational Health & Safety Training Program.
This program has long provided workers and others with a basic level of awareness about occupational hazards, methods for eliminating or controlling exposure along with occupational health and safety law. The updated and expanded Level 1 builds upon this including the introduction of continuous bargaining strategies participants can use in their workplaces to secure safer and healthier working conditions and the overall work environment. The program also:
· covers all Canadian jurisdictions,
· challenges the careless worker myth, and
· focuses on the experiences and learning needs of the participant.
Date: October 18 to October 22, 2010
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
