Machinists Gain in New Clow Canada Agreement

Wages, benefits and pension increases are highlights of a new four-year agreement for members of Local 835 in St. John, New Brunswick who are employed by Clow Canada.

The new agreement provides for wage increases of one percent in the first year, and two percent in each of the second, third and fourth years. Pension contribution increases are 4.34 percent in the first year and 5.34 percent in each of the second, third and fourth year.

Other agreement highlights include: increased group insurance coverage for single and married members; increased dental coverage; improved vision benefits; increased premium pay and additional language improvements.

Clow Canada is the sole manufacturer of fire hydrants in Canada. The 47 members produce valves and water fittings used in the manufacture of the fire hydrants.
