U.S. Debuts Latino Health Care Site

Thu. September 30, 2010

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has launched a Spanish version of the agency’s new site, healthcare.gov, designed to help people find answers and information on the health care bill passed six months ago.

Cuidadodesalud.gov provides Latinos with the same information, including public and private health coverage options tailored to their needs.

With about one in three uninsured Latinos across the country – the highest of any ethnic group – Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius noted the significance of the new site to the Hispanic community.

“At the very core, the website is about breaking down barriers that stand between Latinos and the care they need,” said Sebelius.

Price estimates for specific health care plans will be added to the site next month.
