UCubed Activists Urged to ‘Pour it On’

Tue. December 14, 2010

Union of Unemployed leaders and activists are being urged to ramp up their efforts to let Congress know how the latest tax cut package fails to address the plight of the nation’s long-term unemployed.

“Congress is giving $540 billion – over half a trillion dollars – in tax breaks to corporations and wealthy Americans,” said Union of Unemployed Acting Executive Director Rick Sloan in a message to activists. “And yet, this tax deal contains not a dime for the 99ers, not a penny for direct job creation.”

UCubed Legislative Action links can be found here, here and here.

Congress plans to adjourn this Friday, December 17. So pour it on!

This \'so called\' tax break was an extension of the Bush Tax Cuts. The congress would have loved to raised our taxes and print some more money to give away. They couldn\'t do it knowing their constituents/voters would have their hair! I agree with Bobby, this is deceitful advertising and should not be allowed on this website! We cannot keep up the tirade of giving and giving and giving. The time has come to let the people that can and know how to put people to work have the opportunity. The government does not create jobs! The private sector, people with money, create jobs! If you don\'t believe me, go ask your poor neighbor for a job.

This is not a tax break, our government is simply choosing not to raise taxes during hard economic times. I am displeased that the IAM allows this type of deceitful advertising to be distributed through them.
