IAM Local Lodge 2725 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is welcoming 58 new members who work for Cristalia Premium Water bottling company. The new members are production workers at the two facilities in Carolina and Ponce. Seven maintenance workers at Isleta Marina, a condominium complex in Fajardo, also joined the IAM.
The growth comes on top of 141 new IAM members who joined LL 2725 in December.
“Our membership in Puerto Rico is growing quickly,” said Southern Territory General Vice President Bob Martinez. “My staff has been working hard to bring the new workers into the Local for some time, and those efforts in Puerto Rico are paying off. Expanding the IAM’s reach in Puerto Rico is good news for all our members there, as our increased numbers give Puerto Rico a strong, vibrant IAM presence.”
