Machinist Union members on strike at Manitowoc Cranes overwhelmingly rejected a new company offer that contains union busting language.  The message is clear. IAM members believe that if you receive the benefits of a union contract, you should join the union and pay union dues just like everyone else.

"The company knows that the strike could be settled if they take out the language that guts our union security," said IAM District 10 Directing Business Representative Russ Krings. "I'm proud of our members for taking a stand for what's right."

The Wisconsin State AFL-CIO released a statement saying, "We will continue to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Machinists members at Manitowoc Cranes as they fight for all working people in Wisconsin.  We will increase our support to the striking families as they continue to put a check on corporate power by fighting for Wisconsin’s middle class."
