As the debate over the privatization of Social Security gets set to heat up again, women advocacy groups are working especially hard to draw attention to the devastation privatization will bring women.
Almost two-thirds of women over the age of 65 get a majority of their income from Social Security and nearly one-third rely on Social Security for 90 percent or more of their income.
According to the National Women’s Law Center, more than half of all elderly women would be living in poverty without the current Social Security system.
Send a message to your representatives and urge them to NOT support the President Bush's scam of privatizing social security.
