Workers at Mercedes-Benz in Tuscaloosa need a voice. That’s why we asked the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) to help us. We chose carefully. The IAM has been around for more than one hundred years. They started out in Atlanta, Georgia in 1888 when a group of railroad workers decided to do something about the unfair working conditions they endured.
Today, the IAM is one of America’s largest industrial unions with almost 730,000 members. It’s one of the only unions founded in the South. You’ll find Machinists at the heart of manufacturing in the United States. They build fighter jets, commercial airplanes, make timing chains, launch the Space Shuttle and keep our military strong.
But everywhere they work, IAM members enjoy the benefits of belonging to a union that fights for justice on the job. It’s been their motto for more than 100 years and they’ve helped millions of families live better, raise their kids and retire with dignity.
The IAM is the right union for us. Sign an IAM Union Authorization petition today and ask your co-workers to sign up, too. Together, we can make Mercedes-Benz a better place for all of us.
