The Aerospace Department gives IAM aerospace members a solid, centralized base of power from which to bargain effectively with employers, organize new members and advance our interests with other unions, employers and government officials here and overseas.


Aerospace Territory Adds Key Staff Members

Effective February 1, Aerospace Coordinator Ray Moffatt will become Chief of Staff for the newly-created IAM Aerospace Territory. Moffatt brings significant bargaining and servicing experience to the position in addition to a background that includes service as a U.S. Marine Corp Officer/Pilot and bargaining unit member under the Service Contract Act.

Lawsuit Threatens Thousands of U.S. Aerospace Jobs

Boeing to Close Military Aircraft Facility in Wichita

In a move that will cost 2,100 jobs, the Boeing Company announced this week it will close its military aircraft plant in Wichita, KS and move the work to Texas and Oklahoma. The IAM represents about 450 members at the facility, which performs modifications of military aircraft, in addition to work on Air Force One.
