Notice of Election

Mon. February 13, 2006

For some of you this will be the first letter that you have received from the International Association of Machinists (IAM) and for most of you this is our third informational mailing. Our last letter informed you of the January 30 NLRB (National Labor Relations Board) Stipulation Hearing between DynCorp and the IAM regarding your Union Recognition Petition. The hearing went well and the NLRB has now determined the appropriate bargaining unit, the official cut-off date for voter eligibility, and the date, times and place for the election.

The election date will be Thursday, February 23, 2006 at the Beach House on Cedar Point Road (NAS Bldg #486) during the following time-frames;

  • 6:30am to 8:30am
  • 11:00am to 2:00pm
  • 5:00 pm to 8:00pm
  • 10pm to 12 midnight

The company must post copies of the Notice of Election in conspicuous places throughout all hangers and shops at least three working days before the election. The employer is required to post as many notices as necessary to properly inform the unit. The NLRB will be sending Mail-Out Ballots to those fellow employees on TDY assignment to Nova Scotia. The Mail-Out Ballots will be mailed on Monday, February 13th. The Company was also informed by the NLRB that the 13th was also the starting date at which the company could no longer hold “Captive Audience Meetings” with the employees.

The Company has several Corporate Suits coming from DynCorp’s Fort Worth office; their mission is to conduct an Anti- Union campaign. These individuals will spread false and misleading information; they will attempt to instill fear through assumptions and lies. They will spend thousands upon thousands of dollars to keep the union out and commit valuable resources to achieve this but if you ask them to commit to improving your wages, benefits and working conditions! We have provided written proof (i.e. Federal Law, NLRB and DOL regulations, IAM constitution, etc.) and answered all questions.

The Union can improve your Wages, Benefits and Working Conditions. The IAM allows you to have a voice in your workplace, to expect annual wage increases, to increase your benefits and decrease your out-of-pocket expenses, and to establish a written binding agreement that protect your rights as a worker and gives you a voice in the workplace. You have a right to seek out and form a union with your fellow employees. Your vote YES for UNION will be the beginning of bigger and better things.

  • Why allow Management to abuse your rights?
  • Why go another year without a PAY RAISE?
  • Why continue to pay more for Healthcare?
  • Why continue to have no say within your workplace?

Vote YES on February 23rd                Vote YES for the IAM
