Good morning. What a great day. It is a day that we can all be proud of. This is the first in our Territory that a location has reached this level of star status. I would like to thank the membership of Machinists Local Lodge 743 and Hamilton Sundstrand for working together to achieve OSHA’s highest level of participation in their Voluntary Protection Program. Congratulations on your accomplishment.
You are a world class operation. An operation that has established a health and safety program with excellent results.
I see that open and honest communications are part of the culture that exists here. Two-way communication helps build the trust that leads to cooperation. Trust, honesty, and open communications are fundamental labor values. A union is a family.
A family that cares.
A family that gives.
A family that’s dedicated and committed to the safety and health of all workers.
We do have a very remarkable family here at Hamilton Sundstrand. You are the family members that will drive change in this country, and today, by working together, you made history. It’s your investment in the future.
Remember, always believe in what you do because you have proved it today and I’m proud to be here to celebrate with you.
