Negotiations at Pratt & Whitney (P&W) are set to resume today after the Thanksgiving Holiday.
The talks which re-opened on November 8 following an overwhelming vote to approve strike sanction authority continue to center on job security for the IAM.
"Job security is a priority issue for the members," said Chief Negotiator Jim Parent. "Job security language must be arrived at and we've got a long way to go."
District 26 members rejected a “last, best and final” offer from P&W, the Hartford-based subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (UTC) in August after P&W requested to open talks nearly two months earlier than scheduled.
Negotiation updates are posted at a special website here.
