Snorkel workers complete leadership seminar

On July 22nd and 23rd, 2008 IAM Midwest Territory Special Representative Steve Galloway and Education Representative Edward Manhart conducted IAM Steward Familiarization training for the 400 newly organized workers at Snorkel International based in Elwood, KS.

The group, consisting of 16 stewards attended a presentation on the basic duties and functions of the IAM union steward. They learned the roles of the union steward on the shop floor and in their importance to their local.

IAM Midwest Territory General Vice President Philip J. Gruber praised our new leadership saying, “This labor organization shines when well trained men and women properly and professionally represent our members on the shop floor.  Your have my admiration for taking the time to not only better yourself as a representative of this great Union, but to share that knowledge with your fellow union brothers and sisters as well."
