Local 778 ratifies new 3-year deal at Honeywell FM&T

Wed. October 15, 2008

The 920 IAM members working at Honeywell FM&T in Kansas City, MO ratified a new 3-year labor agreement on Sunday, October 13, 2008.  Our members work in production, assembly, and quality control.  The new agreement also covers several skilled trade unions.

According to Claude L. Harris, Local 778 Directing Business Representative, contract improvements include a $6 per year of service pension increase, a 3% across the board wage increase in each year of the new contract and the committee successfully battled to keep the current “Cost of Living” language in the agreement.

Harris thanked Grand Lodge Representative Rod Hoffman and Tazewell Hurst from IAM Strategic Resources saying, “We sincerely appreciate the help we received from the Grand Lodge in formulating our contract proposal and throughout the negotiations.”

IAM Midwest Territory General Vice President Philip J. Gruber praised all the members of the Local Lodge 778 negotiating committee saying, “It was because of the hard work and dedication of DBR Claude Harris and the Local 778 negotiating committee that our members at Honeywell FM&T were presented with a contract worthy of ratification.”
