Mon. November 23, 2009

Larry Fick, a warehouse forklift operator, was ordered reinstated with full back pay after IAM District Lodge 77 and Local 924 took his discharge grievance to arbitration. Fick was wrongfully discharged Crown Cork & Seal in Owatonna, MN.

“The Union stood up for me and fought my case all the way through Arbitration”, said Fick. “I would have been gone without the IAM and our Union Contract; the Shop Stewards and District 77 Assistant Directing Business Representative Julie Anderson did a great job representing me.”

The Arbitrator ruled that the Company applied unfair discipline, reduced the discharge to a five day suspension, and ordered the Company to pay full back pay and all benefits.
