Machinists Union members from across the Midwest marched on their respective state capitols in support of Wisconsin Public Employees Unions and against union busting attempts by Wisconsin’s Governor. In addition, Indiana members are fighting their democratic right of union membership by successfully opposing Right-to-Work-for-Less legislation.
The Wisconsin protests of Governor Walker so called budget repair bill continue for a third week. Union support among workers is gaining strength and polls of voters in Wisconsin show that over 60 percent of Wisconsinites think Walker is wrong and would not vote for him if the election was held today.
The Indiana Legislature appears to be backing down on their vicious attempt at changing workers rights to join and form unions.
In Iowa members rallied in Des Moines, Indiana members showed their support at their state capitol in Indianapolis, Minnesota members rallied in St. Paul and Wisconsin Machinists marched at the state capitol in Madison. In fact, rallies were held in all 50 states over the past weekend in support of Public Employee Unions.
