Nebraska Machinists Ring in 10th year for Salvation Army

Thu. December 15, 2011

IAM District 6, Local 31 in Omaha, NE rang in the holiday season for the 10th year straight in support of the Salvation Army at the HyVee in Omaha recently. They raised approximately $1,000 for the charity.

According to Local 31 Vice President Mark Patach, "Local 31 looks forward to bell ringing for the Salvation Army and we have no problem in getting volunteers to help out. Local 31 also raises money for the United Way and collects food for the local food bank"

Our members realize how important the service is to the community and are dedicated to working in Omaha and its surrounding communities.  IAM members have a resource they can call on if in financial trouble due to sickness or layoff.  A labor liaison is funded by the United Way and is available through the Omaha Federation of Labor.
