Steve Nickel
Grand Lodge Representative
Grand Lodge Representative Steve Nickel was appointed to the IAM Midwest Territory staff as Special Representative on August 1, 2006. Brother Nickel worked as an erector assembler at Beloit Corporation in Beloit, Wisconsin from 1979 to 1999, where he joined IAMAW. He became a member of Local Lodge 1197, District 68 and served as Union Steward, Bargaining Committee and Committee Chair, and Safety Chair. Steve also served on the Organizing Committee at LL 1197. Steve left Beloit Corporation to work as an Apprentice Organizer for Organizing Department of the IAMAW for the next year. In 2000 Steve joined the staff of District 10 as a Business Agent and in 2004 he was appointed Assistant Directing Business Representative. District 68 has since merged with District 10 and LL 1197 has merged with LL 1266 where he remains a member in good standing.
