Organizing Win for DL 24
District Lodge 24 has won an election to represent six workers at American West Chrome, in Portland, OR. The new members are employed in the machine shop at the facility.
The campaign was begun by former BR Gary Carver and GLR Gerry Greer, and brought to completion by BR Brit Cornman and Greer. Congratulations to the District Lodge 24 DBR Bob Petroff and his staff.
GVP Pearson noted "organizing new members requires hard work and commitment. The future of the IAM, and the labor movement in general, depends on reaching out to working families. All workers deserve a chance to improve their lives, and share in the American dream. This is good work by Bob Petroff and his staff, we are very proud of them."
