GVP Lee Pearson is pleased to announce that District Lodge 160 Directing Business Representative Don Hursey and his organizing team have won another organizing drive.  This latest victory brings justice on the job to over 134 workers at Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc., located in Seattle, WA.  Hursey, DL 160 organizer Cristina Tangonan, and Western Territory organizing Leader Steve Cooper worked tirelessly with this group and their hard work paid off.  The workers at CVGI are responsible for the manufacture and production of state of the art heavy duty truck cabs, for customers like Kenworth and Perterbilt.  The workers voted overwhelmingly to join the IAM, sending a strong message in the 85 - 35 vote in favor of the Union.

DL 160 has won the Western Territory Organizing trophy 2 years in a row, and are committed to winning again this year. The trophy is awarded to the top organizing district in the territory.  Organizer Tangonan was awarded top organizer in the territory last year. GVP Pearson acknowledged, "DL 160 continues to exhibit outstanding leadership in setting the pace and accomplishing the goals established by the IAM Executive Council and leadership 3 years ago.  I commend DBR Hursey for showing that our goals are realistic and can be achieved".
