Western Territory GVP Gary Allen has announced his selection of GLR Robert "Bobby" Martinez as the Administrative Assistant for the territory. Bobby has been a tremendous soldier for working families for many years. He serve in a variety of positions, including Directing Business Representative for Local 933 in Tucson, Arizona, prior to coming on the Grand Lodge staff in April of 2007. Since coming on the staff, Martinez has been assigned to service our membership in Souther California.
GVP Allen said, "Bobby has been a champion for working people for more than twenty years. This choice was not easy, because there were several great choices available to me, but Bobby is very dedicated and talented. Those who know him have witnessed his talent and endless energy. I am proud to have him at my side as we lead this territory."
Brother Martinez has been an IAM member since hiring into Hughes Aircraft (now Raytheon), as an Electronic Technician in 1985. He has held many positions as an activist, including shop steward, Central Labor Council delegate, Auditor, Chief Shop Steward, Negotiating Committee Chairperson, Local Lodge President, and ultimately the position of Direcing Business Representative. In 2003, Bobby was appointed to the IAM Blue Ribbon commission by International President Buffenbarger, and has served as a Delegate to the 33rd and the 36th Grand Lodge Conventions, as well as the 2005 AFL-CIO Convention.
Bobby has been married for 20 years to his beautiful wife Lori, and they have three children Adam, Ashley, and Robbie.
