GLR Maria Santiago Lillis led a Negotiating Committee that consisted of Ernie Ganir, Wayne Kurakake, Russell LaPierre Lori Pooler, Peter Popa, Bryan Randall, Calvin Sato and Gary Spence. According to Santiago Lillis, "This Negotiating Committee met twice a week for about 2 months prior to beginning the actual negotiations. It was a pleasure to work with such a creative, united, and determined group. All of our proposals were mindful of the data that was obtained from the survey of the membership. As a result of the hard work, the Committee was successful in achieving almost all of the items that the members had identified as priorities".
Sister Santiago Lillis would like to extend special thanks to General Vice President Lee Pearson,Administrative Assistant Gary Allen,Neil Gladstein, Peter Greenberg and the rest of the Team at Strategic Resources, andGLR Don Whitaker.
GVP Pearson responded to the news of this contract ratification by saying that this was a true team effort. "The staff of the Western Territory, IAM Headquarters, and the membership at WTS all worked together in a focused effort. World Technical Services, Inc. is a subcontractor to Harris; administering a service contract with the Air Force for satellite tracking in the Hawaiian Islands. The contract was formerly held by Raytheon and Arctic Slope. LL 1998 has represented these members for over 30 years.
