Western Territory Organizing Wins

Mon. November 08, 2010
Western Territory GVP, Gary Allen, is proud to announce two organizing wins.  "The Western Territory had a very successful week, both in politics and organizing", said Allen.  "The successes were largely due to the talent and hard work of IAM representatives who were tireless and dedicated to the needs of workers in their areas of assignment".

First, District Lodge 725 came through with a win that brings fourteen new members to the IAM family.  We are happy to extend a welcome these aircraft maintenance workers from a DS II facility located at MCAS Miramar near San Diego, CA.  Congratulations to DL725 Organizing Director Brian Miller, and thank you for helping these families secure a better future through joining the finest labor union in the nation.

Second, GLR's Bud Michel and Don Gresham, of the Western Territory Staff also reported an organizing win.  Together, they successfully coached 39 mechanics and technicians to a victory at BattleSpace Flight Services LLC located in Creech AFB, NV.  GVP Allen stated, "These wins did not happen by themselves - it was a blend of workers, who needed a strong voice to help them protect their futures, joining with talented and experienced IAM representatives who can deliver the best contracts in the industries.  These two wins are evidence that when workers look at their alternatives, they vote IAM YES!"
