Brother Leif Jensen
December 9, 1951 - December 17, 2010
While the loss of a loved one is never easy, even when anticipated, it is most certainly hardest when they are taken from us too soon. Words cannot express our sadness over the untimely passing of our Brother and Friend, Leif Jensen.
Leif became a Business Representative of IAM District 160 in 1996. At the time of his passing he was representing about 27 shops. He also served as a Trustee to the Machinists Health & Welfare Trust, and was on the Committee for the Machinists Apprenticeship Program. During his many years here, his dedication and selfless nature was always something many others could only hope to attain, and all who knew him regarded him with great respect and admiration. Dan Morgan, Directing Business Representative for IAM District 160, said "Leif helped many bargaining units move forward in great strides and his efforts and contributions will never be forgotten. Leif was a remarkable man, and we here at District 160 are all better people for having known him".
Gary Allen, Vice President of the Western Territory said, "This is a great loss for the IAM, and the labor movement - Leif was a dedicated leader who helped thousands of familes over his career. Our hearts and prayers go to his family."
Leif is survived by his wife, Dottie and daughters, Amy, Jenny, & Hailey. The outpouring of sympathy we have all received will serve as a reminder of how well-loved and respected he was.
Memorial Service for Leif will be at 1 PM on Tuesday, December 28th, 2010 at Boulevard Park Presbyterian Church, 1822 S. 128th ST, Burien, WA 98168. Phone: 206-243-2600. Condolences may be sent to the District Office, and we will make sure they are forwarded on Leif’s Family. Flowers may be sent directly to the Church.

We lost a good friend. Leif was always there for us. I have not talked to him for many years since 2003 to be exact but it it is truly a huge loss for the IAM.Fri. December 24, 2010
I married Leif\'s sister Marie in 1969. I\'ve seen Leif grow up and he has been my brother for fourty-two years. I\'m a CWA member and so we had the \"Union\" thing going but---- I held all of his chidren as babies and he held mine. All of my life was made better and easier because I had a Brother like Leif. Dottie, Amy, Jenny, Hailey , and his sister are my close family, and when I draw my last breath, I will have the greatest memories of Leif. Love Yu Leif, PaulThu. December 23, 2010
Rest in Peace my brother - you were a true believer, and we will never forget you. To Dottie and the girls, know that your IAM family will be there for you, and willing to help in any way possible.
