Brother Joel Ochoa has been a member of Local Lodge 727N since 1991.
For well over a decade he has served the labor movement in various
capacities with a specific emphasis on organizing. In addition to
organizing for various affiliates of the AFL-CIO, he has served as lead
organizer for the California Immigrant Workers Association. A member of
the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement and the Los Angeles
County Federation of Labor Immigration Committee, Ochoa has a degree
from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. Over the years, Ochoa
has conducted numerous training workshops on organizing immigrant
workers. He joined the Western Territory staff as a Special
Representative in 1998. Currently Brother Ochoa is assigned to
organizing.
