Brother Ray Rivera joined the IAM in 1978 and is a Journeyman Tool
and Die Maker by trade. He has served in numerous leadership
capacities, including Chief Steward, President of Local Lodge 47 in
Denver, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Colorado State
AFL-CIO, President of the Colorado State Machinists Council and led
former District Lodge 86 first as President, then as Directing Business
Representative from 1988-1997.
In 1997, Ray was appointed as Special Representative for the Western Territory and became a Grand Lodge Representative two years later. Brother Rivera’s initial assignments included New Mexico and Colorado. Since 2004, GLR Rivera has been servicing the membership in Southern California, in and around the Los Angeles area.
