Lockheed Martin Space Systems - Silverdale, Washington and Kings Bay, Georgia

Local Lodges 282 and 2772 Reach New Agreement:     

On  February 20, 2004 Local Lodge 282 of District Lodge 160 and Local Lodge 2772 of District Lodge 112 concluded negotiations with Lockheed Martin Space Systems for the Trident Submarine Special Weapons Facilities in Silverdale, Washington and Kings Bay Georgia. For the first time since both units became organized, coordinated bargaining with joint negotiations occurred and were held in St. Mary's Georgia. These negotiations proved to be significantly more successful than past endeavors.

Meetings were held on February 24, 2004 at both locations for the membership to vote their decision on ratification. Ratification of the proposed agreements were approved at both locations by the members present and voting.

The following is a summary of the highlights from the new Agreement: 

* 3 Year Agreement effective 01 March 2004 

WAGES
      Three general wage increases for all employees
      4% - March 2004
      3% - March 2005
      3% - March 2006 

      Ratification Bonus:
      $1000.00 to each employee
      Employee option to defer bonus to 401k Savings Plan 

      Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA):
      Implementation of Quarterly COLA adjustments
      COLA formula same as Lockheed Martin Sunnyvale Facility 

      Cost of Living Supplements (COLA):
      Implementation of Annual COLA supplements of $600.00 each December of the Agreement
      Employee option to defer bonus to 401k Savings Plan 

      Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) Premium:
      10% premium to base rate on all hours compensated for all PRP employees
      Premium to be included in overtime computations 

FAVORED NATIONS AGREEMENT TO IMPLEMENT CERTAIN LOCKHEED MARTIN SUNNYVALE FACILITY CHANGES IN FUTURE NEGOTIATIONS
           Vacation pay & benefits, Sick & Injury leave, Holiday schedules, Automatic Rate Progression
            Seniority provisions affecting Transfers, restoration, Loss of seniority, layoffs
            Various other provisions affecting multiple areas of the appropriate CBA's 

BENEFITS
Medical
            Implementation of new medical plans
            Multiple improvements at minimal cost increase
            Employees with other available healthcare who elect to decline coverage will be paid a weekly
opt-out credit 

Dental
            Company-paid Comprehensive Plan 
            Employees may still elect the Comprehensive Plus Plan but at improved rates 

Vision
           New Company-paid Vision Plan 

ADDITIONAL IMPROVEMENTS IN AREAS OF:
           Life Insurance for Employees and Dependents
           AD&D Coverage's
           Health Care and Dependent Care Spending Accounts
           Short term Disability 

CONTRACT LANGUAGE
            Numerous improvements to various contract language provisions 

Negotiating Committee members Noel Travis, Jim Hiett and Charles Wilcox of Local Lodge 282 and Tim Nuttal, Herb Sesley, and Neal Morris of Local Lodge 2772 should be commended for the outstanding job each performed during these coordinated negotiations. These Negotiating Committees did an excellent job in behalf of their membership during these negotiations and were instrumental to these successful negotiations. In addition, Local Lodge 2772 Recording Secretary-Communicator-Web Master Liz Linker did a magnificent job in assisting the negotiating teams for both locations on keeping the membership informed and involved throughout these negotiations.

In addition, District Lodge 112 Directing Business Representative Steve Hernandez and District Lodge 160 Business Representative Mike Goddard provided outstanding leadership and experience during these negotiations. Their expertise and knowledge proved to be invaluable in attaining these successful negotiations.
