Rail PEB Hearings End

The IAM, TCU, a coalition of nine other rail unions and rail carrier representatives have wrapped up a week of hearings before a Presidential Emergency Board (PEB) in Washington, D.C. The parties are waiting for the PEB’s written recommendations for settlement of the contract dispute between the unions and the nation's Class 1 Freight Rail Carriers represented by the National Carriers’ Conference Committee (NCCC).

Support Fair NMB Rules for Aviation and Rail Workers

The IAM is urging members and local leaders to contact their Representatives during this week’s Congressional recess to ask them to vote “YES” on an amendment to maintain fair National Mediation Board (NMB) union voting rules for aviation and railroad workers.

IAM Railroaders Ratify New Contract with Amtrak

Machinists working on Amtrak have ratified a new five-year agreement, retroactive to July 1, 2010.

The new agreement includes a General Wage Increase (GWI) totaling 14 percent and preserves current health and welfare co-pays and deductibles for the life of the contract.
