LL 1725 Says Thank You

1The leadership of IAM Local Lodge 1725 in Charlotte, NC, wanted to let their members know how much they are appreciated. The Women’s Committee, with the help of the Human Rights Committee took the idea and ran with it.

On June 22nd, the local’s hall was the staging point for a day of events intended to “give back” to the membership for their support. Events included free haircuts for members’ children, CPR training from the local rescue squad, self-defense and security basics from the Sheriff’s Department, healthy cooking demonstrations, as well as fellowship and solidarity.

IAM LL 1725 members are employed by American Airlines (formerly US Airways). It’s been very stressful navigating the merger process between US Airways and American. The Women’s Committee and the Human Rights Committee, on behalf of the lodge leadership, wanted to remind the membership that we are all in it together and the IAM will continue to be there for our m2embers.

Overall, it was a very successful day and the committees are looking forward to it becoming an annual event.
