Preparations for the 2016 IAM Grand Lodge Convention continue to gather momentum with the latest Convention Host Committee meeting in Chicago this week to finalize plans for the quadrennial event’s opening day activities.

Chaired by Midwest Territory General Vice President Phil Gruber, the Committee is also responsible for soliciting donations for the Convention Ad Book, which highlights IAM Local and District Lodges, as well as companies that employ IAM members. The Ad Book typically provides nearly 25 percent of the Convention’s total cost.

The list of Host Committee responsibilities goes far beyond the Ad Book and includes overseeing the delegate registration process, conducting fundraising activities and securing transportation to and from off-site Convention activities.

In accordance with the IAM Constitution, the Official Call for the 39th Grand Lodge Convention will be mailed to all local lodges on February 15. The Call contains information regarding nomination, election and qualification of delegates in addition to dates when nominations and elections must be held.
