General Electric
Proxy Campaign:
Frequently Asked
Questions

What will the union do with my proxy?
The union is collecting proxies all across the country from GE workers. The union will use the block of votes to show GE we support worker-oriented resolutions submitted on behalf of GE Union Workers.

What do the stockholders meeting resolutions state?
One resolution demands that GE limit future executive severance and retirement packages. The second resolution asks GE to conform to internationally recognized labor standards. (Click

How will the union use the proxies at the shareholders meeting?
We will use the proxies to speak to the CEO, directors, and stockholders on behalf of the workers. We do not want workers' concerns, morale, and lives to be invisible to the directors and other stockholders. They should know what this company is doing to the workers.

Will my proxy (or small number of shares) make a difference?
Your proxy may not make a difference in the outcome of the meeting, but it will make a difference by sending an unmistakable message to company executives and directors that the workers have a voice, and demand to be considered and respected, along with the stockholders, customers, and management. This kind of united worker action sends a strong message to management.

Will my ballot be counted if I only vote for some of the resolutions?

Yes, your proxy is valid and will be counted whether you vote for one, or all of the resolutions on the ballot. By voting your shares, you are joining with thousands of other union members in having a say in how the company should be run.
