Edward Manhart is the Director of the IAM-Retirees and Membership Assistance Department. This department consists of five IAM programs including; Retirees, Community Services, Disaster Relief, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Critical Incident Response Training/ Team (CIRT), Veterans Services and Young Workers.
Brother Manhart began IAM membership upon his employment with Trans World Airlines in 1988. As a licensed Airframe & Powerplant Technician and proud member of Local 949 in St. Louis, MO, he passionately served his union and the labor movement.
As an active member in Local 949, he served as Shop Steward, Chairman of the Lodge 949 Legislative & MNPL Committee, NAFTA Committee, Newsletter Editor, Delegate to; St. Louis Labor Council and Missouri State Council of Machinists. He served as Communicator for IAM District 142 in Kansas City, MO. From there, Brother Manhart served on the Midwest Territory staff as Educator until appointed to his current position of Director here at IAM Headquarters.
