Paul R. Urbanczyk

Grand Lodge Representative Paul R. Urbanczyk was appointed to the Midwest Territory staff on January 1, 2013.

As a Journeyman Toolmaker, Paul became an IAM member in 1985, working for Mckenica, Inc. located in Buffalo, NY. Shortly thereafter, he was elected chief shop steward and continued in that capacity for more than 12 years. Brother Urbanczyk was elected President of Local Lodge 630 (now merged with LL 330) and is currently a member in good standing with Local Lodge 330, located in Buffalo. He was also elected as New York State AFL-CIO delegate and IAMAW, District Lodge 76 delegate (now merged with Dist. 65).

Paul moved to Detroit in 2002 where he organized workers in the State of Michigan as IAMAW, District Lodge 60 Organizer for more than 4 years. He then relocated to his home state of New York where he served as Organizer for IAMAW District Lodge 65, organizing workers in that region until 2009. In 2010, Brother Urbanczyk accepted a position with the IAMAW and again relocated, this time to the State of Wisconsin. Working a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, his area of responsibility as Public Outreach Coordinator was to promote Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) throughout the state. When the grant expired at the end of 2011, he began working as an Organizer in IAMAW, District Lodge 8 located in the State of Illinois. His area of organizing responsibilities covered the nine states in the Midwest Territory.

In 1998, Paul graduated from Cornell University, located in Ithaca, NY, majoring in Industrial Labor Relations. He also worked and completed a 2-year apprenticeship program with the IAMAW, Organizing Department from 1998 – 1999. Other educational accomplishments include completing numerous labor courses at the IAMAW W-3 center located in Hollywood, MD.
