Political Rally Set for 7PM At
Cincinnati Convention Center

Cincinnati, OH, September 20, 2004 –The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) will hold an old fashioned political rally from 7-10 PM on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at the Cincinnati Convention Center. Featured speakers will include former Georgia Democratic Senator Max Cleland, national and international union leaders and legislators from across the tri-state area.

Up to 3,000 union supporters from Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana are expected to join nearly 2,000 IAM delegates and their families who are holding their 36 th quadrennial convention from Sept. 19-25 at the Cincinnati Convention Center.

“We’re down to the home stretch and Ohio is rightfully being called Ground Zero in the most important election of our lifetime,” said IAM International President Tom Buffenbarger. “This rally is all about turning on and turning out union families in this area who know better than anyone how much is at stake on November 2.”

The IAM is among the largest industrial trade unions in North America and represents nearly 700,000 active and retired members and administers more than 5000 contracts in transportation, woodworking, aerospace, manufacturing and defense related industries.
