HPWO
Partnerships
The High
Performance Work Organization (HPWO) program is a partnership effort for
labor and management. The IAM realizes that creating a better work
environment where management and labor make joint decisions about the
workplace keeps American jobs at home.
HPWO agreements differ from
"quality circles" and other management-designed participatory work
schemes because HPWOs require a role for workers in designing the
company's growth strategy as well as the workplace.
The HPWO Department
staff devote many hours in the field and the Winpisinger Center helping
locals and districts negotiate successful HPWO agreements.
