IAM Air Transport Territory General Vice President Richie Johnsen and other leadership recently traveled to visit IAM Union members at Alaska Airlines Cargo and spoke with Alaska and Hawaiian mechanics in Seattle and Hawaii.
Johnsen mentions that a key issue facing these workers is the upcoming representation election between the IAM Union and AMFA, stemming from an ongoing merger with Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines. Responding to questions from members, Johnsen publicly challenged the smaller and weaker AMFA to a debate, emphasizing his willingness to meet at any time, any where to discuss issues at stake for the workforce.
