Shana Peschek Appointed IAM Director of Training and Apprenticeships

IAM International President Brian Bryant has appointed Shana Peschek as the IAM’s Director of Training and Apprenticeships, effective April 1, 2026.

“Shana has spent years building the workforce development infrastructure that our members and our industries depend on,” said Bryant. “Her experience leading the Machinists Institute has prepared her to take our apprenticeship and training programs to the next level.”

Peschek joins the IAM International staff after serving as Executive Director of the Machinists Institute, established by IAM District 751.

Since IAM District 751 founded the Machinists Institute in 2019, Peschek has spearheaded the expansion of RA initiatives across Washington state and along the West Coast. Under her leadership, the Machinists Institute has witnessed significant growth, including doubling the number of RA occupations, establishing a state-recognized pre-apprenticeship program, and introducing continuing education courses, all in partnership with IAM District 751.

In her new role, Peschek will report to IAM General Vice President Jon Holden, who was appointed General Vice President of Training and Apprenticeships by unanimous vote of the IAM Executive Council, effective April 1, 2026. Holden, formerly president of District 751, will lead the union’s effort to expand apprenticeship and training programs across North America.
