Tell Congress to Pass Jobs Amendment

Democratic lawmakers are working to pass an amendment aimed at saving hundreds of thousands of teacher, police and firefighter positions in communities across America. The amendment contains a $26 billion provision to help states balance their budgets without resorting to cutting vital services.

Failure to pass the amendment could mean the loss of 300,000 teachers by the end of the summer – which translates into larger class sizes and reduced education services for children. The loss of firefighters and police will compromise the safety of the nation’s communities. And, more Americans headed to the unemployment line will further derail the chance for a quicker economic recovery.

Lawmakers must take a stand. Click here to tell Congress to pass the teacher and public safety appropriations amendment today.
