IAM Salutes 250 Years of Service

Five retired IAM representatives, with more than two centuries of service between them, were recognized for their extraordinary contributions at the recent Great Lakes Retirees Meeting in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

In order of seniority, the list of honorees included C.R. Mason, Retired Directing Business Rep with 65 years of service: Don Wharton, Retired General Secretary-Treasurer with 55 years of service; Jimmy Gaunce, Retired Directing Business Rep with 55 years; Tom Stanek, Retired Business Rep of District 54 with 40 years of service and Larry Washam, Retired Director Organizing Headquarters with 39 years of service.

“Each one of these IAM representatives has a career of accomplishments that is worthy of individual recognition, but their combined legacy of service warrants special mention,” said IAM General Secretary-Treasurer Warren Mart. “From their earliest work on the shop floor to their days and nights at bargaining tables and picket lines, these reps are the living embodiment of the values this union has embraced from its earliest days.”
