Lady Gaga, Guide Dogs of America and Michael Jackson

Singer, activist and pop curiosity Lady Gaga was a featured bidder at a recent auction in Los Angeles, CA for costumes and memorabilia belonging to the late Michael Jackson. Among the beneficiaries of the auction was the IAM’s favorite charity, Guide Dogs of America (GDA).

The auction, conducted by Julians Auctions, included a Bad Tour jacket that sold for $240,000, a white glove went for $140,000 and a second crystal glove for $119,000. Jackson’s 1973 Oscar performance ensemble ($51,200), a “We are the World” jacket ($40,625), a signed Captain EO shirt ($9,375) and signed loafers ($10,000).

According to a Tweet sent out by GaGa after the auction, she won on 55 items at the auction, which raised nearly $5 million.

In addition to Guide Dog of America, a portion of the proceeds went to the Nathan Adelson Hospice of Las Vegas.
