A new Machinists News Network video sheds light on a horrific workers’ rights violation in Cambodia, a Southeast Asian country where government forces allegedly tortured and murdered striking garment workers asking for a raise.
The International Labor Rights Forum says four workers were killed and 40 more were wounded. They were protesting Cambodian garment factories, some of which supply American clothing lines, which refuse to boost the minimum wage to $160 a month.
“IAM members in the U.S. and Canada and Guam and wherever we work, should care about this atrocity,” says IAM Chief of Staff and Trade and Globalization Director Owen Herrnstadt.
