Learn More about the IAM Veteran Services Program (VIDEO)

The IAM Veteran Services Program is in place to help our union members who have served in or are retired from the military. As part of that program’s development, 15 veterans from across the U.S. and Canada took part in a week-long planning session at the William W. Winpisinger Center.

One of the participants was Corpus Christi, TX Local 2916 member Connie Rendon, an Iraq War veteran who was seriously injured by a roadside bomb. Rendon sat down to talk with the Machinists News Network about her experiences and the program.

Rendon and the other IAM veterans at the session have returned home to spread the word about the program. The skills they acquired will help them identify and assist their veteran brothers and sisters.
“I have learned so much just being here,” said Rendon. “And I wish that when I was getting out, that someone would have introduced these things to me.”

IAM military veterans are encouraged to sign up to receive more information about the union’s veteran program. Please note that the sign-up form is voluntary.

The IAM Retirees, Community and Membership Services Department administers the Veterans Services Program, which features an online information portal dedicated solely to IAM military veterans in the U.S. and Canada.
