To help celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the first Machinists Local Lodge in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, the Southern Labor Archives has created a new IAM Canada digital collection.
The collection includes photographs that document mid-century activities of the Canadian membership, including the Canadair strike of 1965; a run of The Machinist/Le Machiniste from 1974-1994; and issues of Contact, the newsletter of Airline Central Lodge 2323.
The IAM Archives are part of the Southern Labor Archives, located at Georgia State University Library in Atlanta. They are seeking contributions from Local Lodges from across Canada to complement the more than 1,100 items in the online collection.
