International President Bob Martinez today announced the appointment of Larry Rother as Transportation Department Communications Representative.
A 20-year member of the Communications Workers of America (CWA), Brother Rother’s experience is rooted in both the labor movement and private sector communications. Rother coordinated Verizon strike communications for the Communications Workers of America (CWA), leading to a successful outcome for thousands of union members. He also worked at the New York City global public relations firm Hill and Knowlton as lead strategist, writer and researcher for global accounts.
“Larry possesses a truly unique communications skillset and will be a great asset for IAM members in the Transportation Department,” said General Vice President Sito Pantoja. “He has extensive experience in union communications, has devised and implemented public relations strategies in the private sector and has an impressive academic background in communications.”
Rother holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from St. Johns University and will begin his new role on August 1, 2016.
