Human Resources

The Human Resources Department assists the talented and dedicated staff of the Union to effectively and efficiently support the goals of the IAM membership.    The staff of the Grand Lodge is located at Headquarters, the William W. Winpisinger Center and in regional offices throughout the United States and Canada.  The Human Resources Department is responsible for administering health and welfare programs, including insurance coverage for Grand Lodge active and retired employees.  The Human Resources Department also works closely with the Pension Department in the administration of the Pension Plan.  They work closely with the Legal Department to develop employment related policies, and ensure the consistent implementation of policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.    Additionally, the Department ensures personnel records are kept properly and confidentially.  Human Resources also supports staff education goals to stay up to date with new technologies and skills.

Central Files staff supports the General Secretary-Treasurers Office and performs a variety of tasks.  On a day to day basis Central Files generates, processes, and files paperwork required for credentialing newly appointed IAM representatives; and updating Official Circulars.  Central Files plays a major role in preparing for the Grand Lodge Convention including preparing and distributing Convention related circulars; processing delegate registration forms; preparing Convention materials; and processing travel and hotel accommodations for Convention delegates and guests. Central Files also serves as a vital back up to the Human Resources Department.
